Heavy Duty Industrial Hose Pump

Working Principle
The heavy duty hose pump operates on a positive displacement mechanism. A reinforced, resilient elastomer hose is compressed sequentially along its length by rotating rollers or shoes mounted on a rotor. This mechanical action creates a continuous vacuum behind the compression point, drawing fluid into the hose, while the advancing roller pushes the fluid forward.
Crucially, the fluid remains entirely contained within the hose, ensuring zero contact with the pump casing or mechanical parts. This eliminates seals, valves, and glands, preventing internal leakage and contamination.

Core Technical Advantages
• Sealless & Valveless Design: Eliminates mechanical seals and packing glands, eradicating typical failure points for abrasive and corrosive fluids.
• Full Vacuum Priming: Capable of dry running indefinitely without damage and achieving a suction lift up to 9 meters.
• Shear-Sensitive Fluid Handling: Gentle, low-shear rolling action preserves the structural integrity of polymers, crystals, and delicate biological sludges.
• Reversible Operation: Full flow reversal capability allows easy line purging and clearing of blockages.
• Direct Fluid Containment: Maintenance is strictly limited to the hose element; fluid never touches metal components.

Typical Handled Media
• Mining tailings, mineral slurries, and heavy clay muds.
• Wastewater treatment sludge, polymer solutions, and lime slurries.
• Highly corrosive acids, sodium hypochlorite, and ferric chloride.
• Viscous chemicals, adhesives, ceramic slips, and food-grade pulps.

Target Industries
• Mining & Mineral Processing
• Municipal & Industrial Wastewater Treatment
• Chemical Processing & Petrochemicals
• Ceramic, Tile & Glass Manufacturing
• Construction & Tunneling (Bentonite & Grout Pumping)

Engineering & Material Construction

Durability in harsh industrial environments depends on precise material selection and manufacturing rigor.

Pump Casing: Heavy-gauge ductile iron or welded structural steel, annealed to eliminate internal stresses and coated with a high-durability epoxy finish for chemical resistance.

Rotor & Rollers: Precision-machined forged steel rollers mounted on heavy-duty, sealed taper roller bearings, ensuring uniform compression force and extended mechanical lifespan.

Hose Element Construction:
Multi-layer reinforcement utilizing high-tensile synthetic textile cords embedded in premium elastomeric matrices.
Outer layers precision-ground to tight dimensional tolerances to ensure consistent friction and heat dissipation without lubrication oil breakdown.

Industrial Resin Dosing Peristaltic Pump

Chemical Peristaltic Hose Pump

Available Hose Compounds:
• Natural Rubber (NR): Superior abrasion resistance for mineral slurries and unheated water-based suspensions.
• Nitrile (NBR / NBRF): Excellent resistance to oils, hydrocarbons, and fatty sludges; food-grade options available.
• EPDM: High resistance to oxidizing agents, dilute acids, bases, and elevated temperatures (up to 100°C).
• CSM (Hypalon): Exceptional resistance to concentrated acids, strong oxidizers, and aggressive chemical compounds.

Manufacturing, Quality Control & Compliance

Every hose pump undergoes rigorous factory testing to ensure reliable field performance under continuous duty cycles.

Machining Precision:

Casing mounting faces and rotor assemblies are machined on CNC boring mills to maintain alignment tolerances within ±0.02 mm, reducing vibration and bearing wear.

Hose Hydrostatic Testing:

Internal elastomer pressure testing is conducted on 100% of production batches to verify burst strength and dimensional uniformity.

Performance Testing:

Complete pump assemblies are run-tested on dedicated test benches to verify flow rate, discharge pressure, power consumption, and thermal stability before shipment.

Standards & Certification:

Manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems. ATEX-certified explosion-proof configurations are available for hazardous chemical plant zones.

Application Scenarios & Engineering Fit

Abrasive Wear Resistance: Centrifugal pump impellers and volutes wear out rapidly when handling high-concentration slurries, requiring frequent rebuilding. Hose pumps isolate the wear entirely to the replaceable hose.

No Stator/Rotor Galling: Unlike progressive cavity pumps, hose pumps do not rely on tight elastomer-to-metal fits that destroy themselves if run dry or starved of fluid.

Zero Mechanical Seal Flush: Eliminates the need for external flush water systems, reducing auxiliary utility costs and preventing product dilution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does dry-running affect the hose pump?

A: The pump can run dry indefinitely without causing mechanical damage or overheating. Because lubrication is contained within the gear reducer and roller track, the lack of pumped fluid inside the hose does not impact internal components.

Q: What factors determine the service life of the elastomer hose?

A: Hose life is primarily determined by discharge pressure, operating RPM (speed), fluid temperature, and chemical compatibility. Lower operating speeds and pressures significantly extend the operational cycles between replacements.

Q: Can this pump handle high-viscosity or shear-sensitive fluids?

A: Yes. The low internal velocity and rolling positive displacement action handle fluids up to 100,000 cP without shear degradation, making it ideal for polymers, cosmetics, and fragile cell cultures.

Q: What routine maintenance is required?

A: Routine maintenance is minimal. It is limited to checking gear reducer oil levels, inspecting external hose conditions for wear, and monitoring connection torque. No gland packing adjustments or mechanical seal replacements are needed.

Q: Are replacement hoses interchangeable with other major brands?

A: Our engineered hoses are manufactured to strict OEM dimensional and pressure standards, ensuring direct drop-in replacement compatibility with major industrial hose pump footprints while utilizing optimized compound formulations for extended wear life.

Q: What information is required to generate an accurate pump quotation?

A: To ensure correct engineering selection, please provide:
The specific fluid name, solid particle size, and concentration percentage.
Required flow rate (m3/h or GPM) and total discharge pressure (bar or psi).
Suction conditions (flooded suction or suction lift height).
Operating temperature and hazardous area classifications (e.g., ATEX Zone 1/2).
