HONO Pump Engineering Team has extensive experience in industrial pump applications and maintenance. The team focuses on pump operation optimization, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and customized fluid transfer solutions.

The corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant slurry pump is a single-stage, single-suction cantilever centrifugal pump. Specially designed for conveying corrosive and abrasive slurry containing solid particles,it is widely applied in chemical, metallurgical, mining, environmental protection and desulfurization industries for transportation of mortar, ore slurry and solid-liquid mixed media. Wetted parts can be supplied in fluoroplastics, wear-resistant alloys, high-chromium cast iron to withstand both chemical corrosion and particle erosion. Subjected to harsh operating conditions, the impeller, pump casing and seals are classified as vulnerable components. Standardized maintenance complying with centrifugal pump operating characteristics is essential to stable operation, extended service life and reduced maintenance costs.

Pre-operation Inspection

1.Inspect the pump body, suction & discharge pipelines, valves and flange connections.

Ensure no leakage or loose connections; verify pipelines are free of blockage and damage. Confirm suction and discharge valves are set to correct positions (suction valve fully open;discharge valve slightly open or closed per startup requirements).

2.Check the bearing housing and sealing assembly.

Ensure lubricating oil/grease is at proper level and free of deterioration. Confirm mechanical seals are free of leakage and wear; for packing seals, maintain appropriate packing tightness.

3.Inspect the motor and coupling.

Verify reliable motor earthing;ensure the coupling is free of looseness and misalignment. Manually rotate the shaft 2-3 turns to confirm smooth impeller rotation without jamming or abnormal friction noise.

4.Check medium conditions.

Confirm the concentration, temperature and pH value of conveyed medium are within the pump's allowable range. Ensure no large-size solid impurities or agglomerates exist to prevent pump damage caused by abnormal media. For media with hard particles such as ore grains and sediment, check particle size in advance to guarantee it does not exceed the equipment limit. Install pre-filter devices when necessary.

Pre-operation Inspection Checklist for Centrifugal Mortar Pump

The pump unit can only be started upon completion of all above pre-operation inspections. During operation, closely monitor vibration, noise, discharge pressure and medium leakage. Long-term operation under dry-run or cavitation conditions is strictly prohibited. Perform regular inspection on wetted parts, bearings and seals, and replace worn components in a timely manner. These measures can maximize pump performance, minimize unplanned downtime and guarantee continuous, stable operation of the overall process system.
