HONO Pump Engineering Team has extensive experience in industrial pump applications and maintenance. The team focuses on pump operation optimization, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and customized fluid transfer solutions.

Slurry pumps are widely deployed in service conditions involving solid-particle-containing and corrosive process media. Critical components including impellers, guard plates, seals and bearings are subject to progressive wear and corrosion. Implementing structured periodic maintenance is essential for minimizing equipment failures, extending service life and sustaining rated conveying performance. This specification establishes tier-based maintenance requirements for slurry pumps covering daily/weekly routine checks, monthly inspection, quarterly servicing and annual overhaul. It defines standardized operational requirements for visual and piping inspection, lubricant replenishment, inlet filter cleaning, inspection and remediation of degraded wetted components, seal element replacement, motor performance verification, bolt retorquing, bearing renewal and complete unit disassembly‑overhaul, to guide operation and maintenance personnel in executing compliant maintenance activities.

(Ⅰ) Routine Maintenance (Daily / Weekly)

  1. Daily Tasks: Maintain cleanliness of equipment surrounding area. Carry out visual inspection of equipment exterior, piping connections and sealing interfaces for leakage. Record operational parameters. Shut down the unit and conduct troubleshooting immediately upon detection of abnormal conditions.
  2. Weekly Tasks: Inspect bearing lubrication status and replenish lubricating oil or grease as required. Verify tightness of coupling fastening bolts to eliminate potential loosening risks. Clean the inlet filter assembly to prevent foreign contaminants from entering pump casing and causing abrasion to impeller and pump chamber. For pumps handling highly abrasive media, perform supplementary inspection for impeller surface wear on a weekly basis and document wear measurement data.

(Ⅱ) Monthly Maintenance

  1. Inspect wetted components including impeller, pump chamber and guard plate for wear and corrosion. Components with minor wear may be repaired; components exhibiting severe wear shall be replaced promptly to prevent deterioration of pump efficiency and operational stability. For wetted parts manufactured from high-chromium cast iron, surfacing welding repair is permitted. Where fluoroplastic wetted parts present cracking or spalling defects, direct replacement shall be enforced; repaired components must not be returned to service.
  2. Examine mechanical seals and packing seals for wear and material aging. Replace degraded or damaged sealing elements to ensure sealing integrity and zero-leakage performance.
  3. Verify motor insulation performance by measuring insulation resistance to ensure compliance with applicable safety specifications. Inspect and replenish lubricating grease for motor bearings. Investigate and resolve motor anomalies including abnormal noise and excessive operating temperature.
  4. Retorque fastening bolts across pump body, process piping, coupling assemblies and bearing housings, so as to avert equipment malfunctions induced by bolt loosening under vibration.

(Ⅲ) Quarterly / Annual Maintenance

  1. Quarterly Maintenance: Perform comprehensive bearing condition assessment. Replace bearings in a timely manner if wear, abnormal noise or mounting looseness is identified. Verify pump shaft straightness; implement straightening correction or shaft replacement in case of bending or wear defects. Drain residual old lubricant from bearing housing and fill with new lubricant (standard interval:every 6 months). For pumps under continuous long-duration operation, shorten bearing replacement interval to 3 months to guarantee operational reliability.
  2. Annual Maintenance: Execute complete equipment disassembly and comprehensive overhaul. Inspect all wetted components, sealing assemblies, bearings and pump shafts; replace components suffering from wear, corrosion or material aging. Apply anti‑corrosion treatment to pump body and piping and remediate corroded sections. Calibrate operational parameters to restore equipment performance to rated design values. Compile full-year maintenance records, analyze equipment operational profiles and optimize subsequent maintenance regimes.

Internal Components of Slurry Pump

This guideline is applicable to general-purpose corrosion‑resistant and wear‑resistant slurry pumps. For units featuring special construction, custom material configurations or manufacturer-mandated requirements, maintenance activities shall be carried out in accordance with the official equipment manual and manufacturer technical instructions. Revisions may be implemented in response to field operating experience, updated industrial standards and manufacturer technical upgrades.
